FEAR - Loss of Standards - Our Way of Life

I had a dream last night that was very disturbing - mainly because it could happen.

In my dream, I saw vendors setting up open markets in abandoned parking lots = selling everything from TVs to toilet paper. Food trucks were also in the parking lot - selling various meals to the shoppers. These vendors were people that had come to America recently = a mixture of people = Hispanic or Arabic or Asian. They couldn't get work so they were resorting to peddling anywhere and everywhere = to make money.

With so many businesses going under in America - especially after the horrible Covid lockdown nightmare - we have many abandoned buildings with empty parking lots. We are also dealing with many immigrants coming into America from all over the world - whether legally or not - they are here and they bring their lifestyles with them. Where they come from - things are done differently. They come here and try to do the same thing that they did back in their country.

This frightens me and I think it frightens many others in America. Our way of life is threatened by this. We have rules and standards in place in America that make our lives very comfortable right now. Stores have rules that they follow = with employees that work in the stores = simple concepts like payroll, taxes, building codes, etc. Restaurants have similar codes that they also must follow. If these codes are not followed = then they risk fines and closures. This is all done to protect us = the citizens of America.

If the rules and standards go out the window = then our way of life will deteriorate and become just a memory for the elderly to remark on in the nursing homes. No standards & no rules = increase in people getting food poison from vendors that are not following food codes. Outside open markets = increase in crooks - simply put - you will have a lot of people selling poor merchandise to people = then disappearing into the night = with no way of catching up with them.

I don't want America to change into a 3rd world country - with no stability - with a poor economy - with a large population of people living below the poverty line = with a broken down education system - with poor health care - with corrupt politicians and rampant incompetence. I worry that we have become very laidback with maintaining the American lifestyle. The younger generation doesn't take the threat seriously. The older generation is not up to dealing with this mess. And unfortunately the middle generation is burnt out!

I think we have some serious issues in America that are very unsettling to think about. I fear for the future. I really do not want to live in a DARK AGE.

Take care,

LK
