Give Me Some Space!

There is only 1 thing that I miss from the horrible Covid years = 6 feet apart rule. I hated the masks. I hated the lockdown. I hated the media stories. I hated a lot of things concerning the Covid outbreak. It was handled badly by our government officials and a lot of people suffered because of it.

But I do miss the 6 feet apart rule. I am someone who loves my space. I don't like people really close to me. For one, they stink. Most people do NOT wear enough deodorant! The stench radiating off of many people makes my eyes burn. Especially during the hot months = I call it the summer time blues = because everywhere you go = you feel like you are smelling old gym socks.

One of my pet peeves is when I'm trying to check out in a self-checkout lane and the guy behind me is so close he might as well be a boil on my BUTT! It's that aggressive behavior that you see on the roads. He feels if he is right behind me then he can motivate me to move faster and get out of the way. I can't stand it. I usually turn and glare at him but it doesn't work because so many people are totally clueless.

I remember a teacher I had in high school that loved to get right in front of my face when talking to me. It was like being near a sprinkler = constant spit in the face! No one likes to be showered by someone's speech!

I liked when the restaurants and stores put up the plastic barriers to separate the customers. They saw it as a way to keep the germs from spreading. I saw it as a way to keep people at a distance. In restaurants, people often bring their kids and let them act up during the meal. I can't tell you the amount of times someone's kid has disrupted my meal or my companion's meal by bugging us from behind. It is unbelievably annoying! And, of course, the parents do nothing! The plastic barriers have gone since the Covid threat has lifted. I miss those barriers as well. I complained to the manager at the restaurant for removing them. I wanted them to stay forever.

I don't know why people can't back off! Give me SPACE! Why do we have to have a germ/virus outbreak in order to get people to step back?!?

These days people are very volatile. You would think that people would get a clue and give people their space so that they don't blow up! A lot of the rage incidents taking place these days could be avoided if people gave each other a little more space.

I blame the fact that many people are very self-absorbed. They are on their phones and ignoring everyone else around them. They are so focused on what they want to do that they literally trample people that get in their way. There is NO consideration for others. All they care about is themselves.

It's a shame that they can't invent some kind of invisible bubble suit that you can wear that is both comfortable and affordable. It would keep the germs out and it would stop people from being able to invade your space. The suit would keep them at a distance. Oh well, maybe someone will create it in the near future.

Take care,

LK
